The China-Thailand Railway

Location:
Thailand (part of the China-Laos-Thailand international corridor)

Project Significance:
As a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Thailand Railway plays a pivotal role in connecting China with Southeast Asia. It drastically reduces travel time and transportation costs while boosting tourism and economic integration between the two nations. For Thailand, it particularly energizes the tourism industry by attracting Chinese travelers and stimulating growth in local infrastructure and hospitality.

Project Overview:
Spanning over 800 kilometers with a design speed of 250 km/h, the railway connects key cities in Thailand and links with China’s Kunming via Laos. It establishes a high-speed land corridor that enhances regional connectivity and economic exchange.

GOWE Group’s Contribution:
GOWE provided comprehensive scaffolding and formwork solutions for major construction segments of the railway, including stations, elevated viaducts, bridge piers, and tunnels:

High-load aluminum formwork systems

Specialized bridge scaffolding support structures

Custom tunnel formwork (round & horseshoe-shaped)

Modular early dismantling system for rapid, reusable construction

Project Highlights:

Aligned with China’s Belt and Road strategic goals

Accelerated construction with reusable, high-precision formwork

Environmentally friendly materials & efficient turnover

Enabling Chinese engineering standards to shine abroad
